How to host HTML generated by Claude, Lovable or bolt

Updated · Dropsite

Short answer: Save Claude's output as one self-contained index.html, or export a Lovable or bolt project, build it and zip the dist folder. Drop the file or ZIP on Dropsite and you get a shareable link in seconds, with no account, Git or deploy settings.

AI tools are great at producing pages, but they leave you with a file or a project, not a link. This guide gets you from one to the other.

Claude: ask for a single file

Single-file pages are the easiest to host. Add this to your prompt:

Put everything in one self-contained HTML file: inline the CSS in a <style> tag and the JavaScript in a <script> tag. Load libraries only from a public CDN over https. Do not reference local files.

When the artifact looks right, download it (or copy the code into a text editor) and save it as index.html. Make sure your editor does not add .txt to the end.

Then drop index.html on Dropsite. You get a link like k7m2xq.dropsiteusercontent.com.

Lovable and bolt: export, build, zip dist

  1. Export the project (download as ZIP or push to GitHub and clone it).
  2. In the project folder run npm install and then npm run build.
  3. Open the dist folder (sometimes build or out). You should see index.html and an assets folder.
  4. Select everything inside dist and compress it. On macOS: right-click → Compress. On Windows: right-click → Send to → Compressed folder.
  5. Drop the ZIP on Dropsite.

Zipped the dist folder itself instead of its contents? That's fine too: if the ZIP has exactly one folder with index.html inside, Dropsite unwraps it for you.

If links inside the app go to a blank page, the app is using client-side routing. Switch the router to hash mode (URLs like /#/about) before building, or keep the app on a single page.

Supabase or Firebase with public (anon) keysSecret API keys — anyone can read them in the page source
Hash-based routingServer-side rendering and API routes

Frequently asked questions

How do I download HTML from Claude?

Ask Claude to put the whole page in one HTML file, then use the download or copy button on the artifact and save it as index.html.

How do I host a Lovable or bolt project?

Export or download the project, run the build (npm run build), then zip the contents of the dist folder so index.html sits at the top of the ZIP, and drop the ZIP on Dropsite.

Will a page with a backend work?

Only the front end. Static hosting cannot run server code, a database or secret API keys. Calls to public APIs from the browser still work.
